Ballyhigh Show Stable is owned by Joyce Brinsfield and is located at Brinsfield Farm, LLC. in Versailles, KY. It‘s quiet atmosphere is in the middle of the Bluegrass. The farm is less than 30 minutes to the Kentucky Horse Park. Ballyhigh is a hunter jumper facility. Joyce is the trainer and manager.
Full care boarding is available. Full training board is also an option.

Joyce grew up in Cumberland, MD. She showed in the pony divisions at rated hunter shows as a child. She was deeply involved in 4-H and represented MD at the Eastern National 4-H Horse Round-Up 3 times. She moved to Kentucky to attend the University of Kentucky. She received her B.S. in agriculture and was a member of the University of Kentucky Equestrian Team and Judging Team.
Joyce is the Past President of the Kentucky Hunter Jumper Association. She trains horses and teaches clients. Her clients range from those who ride for fun to those who compete at rated shows. Her clients have won numerous awards in the KHJA. She has also had clients that have qualified and competed at Maclay Regionals, USEF Pony Finals, and Indoors.
In 2018, Joyce finished second in the show hunters at the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover. She trained and showed Kathy Gilbertson‘s horse,After Cheyenne. Joyce fell in love with the program and continues to develop other OTTBs. In 2019, she competed More Moola in show hunters and competitive trail. She also competed a

She also competed as part of a team with Tiz a Hercules. The team made up of Joyce, Kathy Gilbertson, and Autumn Kinmon competed in show hunters and dressage. Joyce’s 2022 Hopeful is Save Me Paula, a gelding owned by Paula Singer placed sixth in competitive trail.
Ballyhigh Show Stable, Ltd. is located at Brinsfield Farm, LLC. It is on 53 acres in Central Kentucky and is a short drive to the Kentucky Horse Park, Lakeside Arena, Keeneland, Bluegrass Airport, and many universities.
The farm has three barns. The front barn is mainly for layovers and overflow during horse shows. It has 10 stalls. The main barn houses most boarders and sale horses. It consists of 16 stalls. The lesson barn has 14 stalls and houses lessons horses. It is also available for stall rental during horse shows. All stalls are 12’ by 12’ with stall mats. Each barn has its own wash rack and grooming stalls.
The farm has outdoor and indoor arenas. The outdoor is 250’ x 200’ and the indoor is 100’ x 200’. There are jumps available in both arenas. There is also an outdoor hunter course available as well as an obstacle course. There are woods and open fields to ride through. Turnout for horses is in the eleven paddocks on the farm.
Includes stall and turnout. Horses fed am and pm. Hay and water. Will hold for farm farrier and vet. Blanketing in winter. Price includes sales tax.
Short term boarding or layovers.
Price includes full board. Training is a minimum of 5 days per week.
Available when a horse needs a little help or owner is unable to ride. Individual programs available.
Learn in a group setting with other riders that are at similar levels. Groups are 2 to 5 riders.
Private lessons allow individual instruction. They are approximately 45 minutes.
Training at home shows, local shows ,or rated shows.
Trainer will coach at any of the shows put on at the farm.
Ballyhigh frequents many of the local KHJA shows as well as other local shows.
Ballyhigh also attends USEF shows. Riders have also competed at Maclay regionals, USEF Pony Finals, and Indoors.
Ballyhigh offers summer camps to children and adults. Campers use their own horses and are provided stalls to use for the camp. Limited school horses are available.
Ballyhigh offers clinics throughout the year. Clinics range from riding to trailer loading to natural horsemanship.
Each year the farm puts on numerous horse shows. Some shows are KHJA local rated such as the Young Horse Shows and the Ballyhigh Fall Classic.
The trainer, Joyce Brinsfield, can help you with sales. Ballyhigh has numerous sale horses available. We can also assist in helping get horses sold as well as finding the perfect horse.
Joyce Brinsfield is also available to judge unrated hunter/jumper shows, IEA, 4-H, and IHSA. She has had years of experience judging in KY, OH, MD, and IN.
